Hello Nova family, ding dang dong, Christmas is coming, and that's why we want to give you our list with our top 10 favorite Christmas movies. 🎅 Then tell us if you have already seen them and which one would you add?


HOME ALONE (1990)

It is the story of an eight year old boy who is accidentally left alone at Christmas while his family goes on a trip.

The whole plot is about how this boy defends his house from two burglars.

This movie has always been an icon of Christmas, and years go by and we keep watching it on all TV channels and on all platforms. We love it, that's why it's in our number 1 spot.


THE HOLIDAY (2006)

  • Starring: Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black.

It's going to be 15 years since it was released, and how can you go through Christmas without seeing this movie? It's one of those that you never get tired of watching, it's cozy, warm, tender, romantic, and makes you empathize with each of the characters.


LOVE ACTUALLY (2003)

  • Written and directed by Richard Curtis.

  • Starring: Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Laura Linney, Keira Knightley, Rowan Atkinson, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Andrew Lincoln, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Chiwetel Ejiofor among others.

In this romantic comedy different love stories are intertwined, touching and funny. It's one of those movies that treats itself to a group of talented and renowned actors interacting with each other.

NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (1993)

When Jack Skellington, the lord of Halloween discovers Christmas he is fascinated and embarks on a plan to improve it. Well...improve it in his own way. That includes a kidnapping and the introduction of ghoulish schemes....

It is undoubtedly one of the great Christmas stories, which year after year accompanies us at this time of the year.


EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990)

  • Starring Johnny depp and Winona Ryder.

And here is another great masterpiece by Tim Burton. Tender, touching, funny, magical and... strange.

During Christmas Eve, an old woman tells her granddaughter the story of Edward Scissorhands.

Who was he? A young boy created by an inventor, who left his work unfinished, and instead of two, Eduard was left with blades.

It couldn't be more Christmasy, could it?


THE GRINCH (2000)

This story is about a bitter and cantankerous being who is considered a Christmas icon. What is his purpose? To put an end to Christmas.

If you haven't seen it yet, don't miss this talented piece starring the great Jim Carrey.


POLAR EXPRESS (2004)

This movie is a charming, warm, family movie. It follows the adventures of a group of children traveling on a magical train. It is an animation based on the children's book The Polar Express (1938).

It is ranked as one of the most successful Christmas-themed film productions of all time.


A CHRISTMAS CAROL (2009)

  • Starring: Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, Cary Elwes, Fionnula Flanagan


Here's another grumpy, grumpy character played by Jim Carrey.

When the spirit of vacations past, present and future sweeps him along on a journey where he discovers truths he's never allowed himself to see. Suddenly Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) realizes that he must immediately counteract so many years of selfishness and spite.

A touching piece, in which we all have a soft spot in our hearts when the Christmas season arrives.


KLAUS (2019)

It is an animated film that will touch children and adults.

This story is about KLAUS a mysterious carpenter who lives isolated in a cabin full of handmade toys.
